Find the Shopify order behind the email
Customers write "where is my order" and nothing else. No order number, no clue which of their three orders they mean. CaseKit resolves it from what is actually in the conversation, so you stop searching Shopify by hand.
No order number in this message. Two open orders match sarah.johnson@example.com.
Four ways CaseKit resolves the order
It works down this list until it has a confident match, and tells you which route it used.
An explicit order reference
If the customer pasted an order number anywhere in the subject or body, CaseKit uses it directly. This is the fastest and most certain path.
The sender's email address
No order number is the normal case. CaseKit matches the sender address to a Shopify customer and takes their most relevant recent order.
Ranked candidates when it is ambiguous
A customer with two open orders gets two cards, each with its number, date and fulfillment state. CaseKit asks rather than guessing, because a confidently wrong tracking number is worse than a question.
Manual search, still inside Gmail
When nothing matches — a different email address, a guest checkout, an order outside the available window — the card gives you a search box instead of an empty panel.
What you are replacing
The Shopify admin route to one order from one email is short, but you do it dozens of times a day and it breaks your place in the thread every time.
- Switch to the Shopify tab, wait for admin to load
- Search customers by name or email
- Open the profile, find the right order
- Open the order, scroll to fulfillment
- Open the tracking link, interpret the carrier state
- Copy the tracking number, switch back to Gmail
Zero clicks. The card is already there when the conversation opens.
When it cannot find the order
A lookup tool is only trustworthy if it is honest about misses. CaseKit never shows an empty panel with no explanation.
Different email address
Ordered on one address, wrote from another. CaseKit says the sender does not match a customer and offers a search box.
Order outside the window
If the order is older than the data your Shopify access covers, CaseKit says so rather than reporting "not found".
Not an order question at all
Plenty of support email is not about an order. CaseKit stays quiet instead of forcing a match onto the thread.
